Every student realizes the importance of applying to a Tvet College, and without their courses, students would not be able to achieve their goals because the colleges they want to go to would not offer any of the courses they would like. In South Africa, there are 50 Tvet Colleges that are willing to provide students with a variety of career-focused vocational programs aimed at preparing young people for employment or to start and run their own businesses. The colleges mainly offer courses on Levels 1 to 4 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), although some colleges offer Higher Certificates on Level 5 with 120 credits.
The two main courses offered by TVET colleges are:
- National Certificate (Vocational) qualifications, the NC (V), and
TVET colleges offer the following additional qualifications and programmes:
- Selected UNISA and other qualifications registered on the NQF,
- Occupational work-integrated programmes: learnerships and apprenticeships, as well as trade tests,
- Skills programmes and non-formal short courses, and

All qualified applicants wanting to study at the College must make sure they have the following available before attempting to apply:
- A unique/valid Email address and cellphone number from the applicant
- 3 certified copies of the ID of the Parent/Legal Guardian
- 3 certified copies of the ID of the Learner
- Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate)
- A certified copy of your latest results/Grade 9 or Higher;
- Proof of Residence.
Foreign students
- Certified copies of passport number/ID
- SAQA-approved foreign qualifications
- Proof of medical insurance or cover
- Valid study permit
How to make an Application to any of the Tvet Colleges 2026
Students should follow the process provided to start applying now:
Step 1: Get your application form from the college’s official website.
All new applications are now available online for students to start applying:
During the application process, please make sure you include a valid and working e-mail address as well as one telephone number.
Step 2: Fill out the application form completely with the necessary details.
E-mail, ID, and cell phone number verification. Your ID, e-mail, and cell phone are used to verify your identity.
Step 3: Ensure that all supporting documents are attached.
All applicants who are beginning a new qualification must submit the following certified documents:
- Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of New ID/Passport Application)
- Certificates/Qualifications
- Recent Academic Achievements
- Other account statements/billing documents for municipalities (not older than 3 months)
- A current study permit (Foreign national students)
- The Evaluation Certificate of the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) (foreign qualifications).
Step 4: Fill out and submit your application to the college before the deadline gets close.
