The King Hintsa TVET College is located in the Eastern Cape’s South Eastern Region. The Central Administration Office is located close to WSU on N2 Mthatha Road in Butterworth (Butterworth campus). The old Centane Technical College, Teko Technical College, H.B. Tsengwa Technical College, and Idutywa Satellite, formerly known as Idutywa Community College, have merged to form the King Hintsa College.
With two campuses—Centane, Teko, and Admin Center—located in Mnquma Local Municipality, the college is dispersed amongst the two local municipalities. Locations of Dutywa and HB Tsengwa Campuses in Mbashe Local Municipality. College campuses are about 60 kilometers apart on average. At various campuses, the college provides NC (V), Report 191, and Skills Development programs.
It is commonly recognized that King Hintsa College educates adults, out-of-school adolescents, and project-linked trainees, from those with weak academic backgrounds to those who have had the chance to raise their educational level. Public FET colleges began offering the National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) in 2007 due to the Department of Higher Education and Training.
The NCV curriculum is distinguished by a comprehensive approach to education and training as well as a change from theoretical to curriculum that integrates theory and practice.
