Applications for the 2026 academic year will officially open on 1 April 2025 and close on 30 November 2025. TVET Colleges opening date for 2026

Depending on the college and the semester a candidate is enrolling for, TVET Colleges may have different application deadlines. In normal cases, applications are accepted beginning on April 1 and ending on November 30. Applications may be submitted during this time, but it is highly recommended that you visit the college’s official website to know exactly when applications are open and closed.

Admission Requirements needed when applying to TVET colleges

All qualified applicants wanting to study at the College must make sure they have the following available before attempting to apply:

  • A unique/valid Email address and cellphone number
  • 3 certified copies of the ID of the Parent/Legal Guardian
  • 3 certified copies of the ID of the Learner
  • South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport numbers.
  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg, Senior Certificate)
  • A certified copy of your latest results/Grade 9 or Higher;
  • Proof of Residence.

Foreign students

  • Certified copies of the passport
  • SAQA-approved foreign qualifications
  • Proof of medical insurance or cover
  • Valid study permit

How to Apply To A TVET College In South Africa

Step A: Get your application form.

Step B: Complete your application form in full

Verification of e-mail, ID, and cell phone number. Your ID, email, and cell phone are used to authenticate you.

Step C: Attach all supporting documents.

All applicants starting a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:

  • Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
  • Certificates/Qualifications
  • Recent Academic results
  • Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
  • A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
  • The South African Qualifications Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).

Step D: Submit your application

A confirmation email will be sent to you with all the application information
