NCV Level 2 to 4 Programs Admission Requirements

  • PLP (Pre-Vocational Learning Program) certificate with a 50% passing grade in English, a 60% passing grade in Foundational Science, and a 60% passing grade in Life Orientation; or a.
  • Grade 9 statement with a 50% passing grade in English FAL and Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy; or
  • AET L4 (GETC) – 50% passing grade in English FAL and Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy, or equivalent professional certification, or a
  • Grade 9 – APS of 24, utilizing the top six Grade 9 topics, including English, Technical Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, and Mathematics; or a
  • Grade 10: APS of 22, including Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Technical Mathematics, and English among the highest six subjects; or a
  • Grade 11: A minimum APS of 20 in six subjects, including English, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, and Technical Mathematics; or a
  • Grade 12: APS of 18, based on the top six topics from that year, including English, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Technical Mathematics, and Mathematics.

Hospitality, Marketing, Office Administration, and Tourism Requirements

  • a PLP (Pre-Vocational Learning Program) certificate with a 50% passing grade in English, a 60% passing grade in Foundational Science, and a 60% passing grade in Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy.
  • English FAL statement from grade 9 with a 50% passing grade, or
  • AET L4 (GETC) with an English FAL score of 50%, an equivalent professional qualification, or
  • APS of 24 in Grade 9, utilizing the top five subjects plus English; or
  • APS of 22 in Grade 1,0 utilizing the top five subjects, including English; or
  • APS of 20 in grade 11, with the top five subjects—including English—comprised; or
  • using the top five subjects from the NSC/NC(V)APS of 18, including English

Business Studies
Management Assistant N4

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Office Administration L4 certificate;
  • Grade 12 with computer subjects;
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies; or an
  • Typing skills Certificate;
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification; or an
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and then the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.

Legal Secretary N4

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Office Administration L4 certificate
  • Grade 12 with computer subjects
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies; or an
  • Typing Skills Certificate
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification; or an
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and then the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.

Public Relations N4

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Office Administration L4 certificate
  • Grade 12 with computer subjects
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • Typing Skills Certificate
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification; or an
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and then the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.

Business Management N4

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Any of the following NC(V) L4 Certificates:
  • Office Administration
  • Information Technology
  • Finance, Economics, and Accounting
  • Transport and Logistics.
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • Equivalent occupational qualification;
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and Accounting/ Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy/Economics/Business Studies subjects plus the two (2) next best subjects of NSC

Engineering Studies

Engineering Studies N1 to N3

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – N1

Grade 12 statement with passes in Mathematics and English FAL, and Physical Science
APS score of 18, using the best six NSC / NC (V) L4 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics/Technical Mathematics and English.

Engineering Studies N4 to N6

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – N4

1. Any of the following NC(V)L4Certificates:

  • Civil Engineering and Building Construction
  • Drawing Office Practice
  • Electrical Infrastructure Construction
  • Engineering and Related Design
  • Information Technology and Computer Science
  • Mechatronics
  • Process Instrumentation
  • Process Plant Operations: or an

2: National Certificate: N3 Engineering Studies;
3: Equivalent occupational qualification;
4:  APS score of 24, using double the Mathematical/Technical Mathematics plus one relevant Technology Subject (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or Physical Science, plus English and the two (2) next best subjects of NSC

Pre-Vocational Learning Program (PLP)Certificate

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Students with weak/poor literacy and numeracy foundations who have completed at least Grade 9 are the program’s target audience.
Those in Grades 10 or 11 and those who have not participated in formal education in a while may also be taken into account.
