Tvet Colleges Sponsored By Nsfas: Tvet college students are eligible to apply for bursaries under the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in order to further their studies. After graduating from high school, NSFAS offers qualified South African students attending public universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges financial aid in the form of loans and bursaries to assist with the expense of their higher education.
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) makes provision for a bursary fund per TVET college in order to facilitate optimum access for financially needy and academically deserving students. When allocating funds to students, compliance with DHET Bursary Administration Guidelines is imperative. The DHET has appointed The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) as the administrator of these funds.

- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

- Provide your own cellphone number and email address
- You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
- National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
- The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
- The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
- All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- An applicant known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
How to Apply for Tvet Colleges NSFAS
NSFAS bursaries can be sent through the NSFAS online application or through their offices. On the other hand, if you are applying online, you can follow the steps below:
- Step 1 – Go to www.nsfas.org.za and look for the tab “MyNSFAS” and click it
- Step 2 – You, therefore, have to create an account called myNSFAS
- Step 3 – Click the “Apply” tab and answer the question provided on the screen
- Step 4 – You will have to upload the required documents
