Nkangala TVET College Witbank Campus
Nkangala Tvet College Witbank Campus: In 1968, the campus officially opened as Witbank Technical College, with Mr L.D. Venter served as the first principal and six teachers on staff. The institution was primarily founded to meet the expanding demand for craftsmen in the area caused by the industrial explosion when four steel plants started production, and the need for coal increased, by providing theoretical and practical qualifications. Up until the end of 1974, the college and Witbank Technical High School shared space. After that, the school moved into freshly constructed premises.
The college became the Witbank Campus after merging in 2003 with three other colleges in the Nkangala district to establish Nkangala TVET College. Currently, Witbank Campus offers six programs for the National Certificate (Vocational) and Report 191 Engineering and Business Studies to about 6000 local students annually. The campus signed sponsorship agreements and memorandums of understanding to establish itself as a centre of excellence for computer science and information technology.
These collaborations led to the creation of the following courses: IT Essentials 1&2 and CCNA 1–4 (International Computer Drivers Licence), which are international certificates offered by Cisco in association with the Department of Communication, AutoCAD, and Pastel Accounting. The campus invites all prospective students who are interested in studying and applying for the academic year 2026. Students are advised to submit their applications to the institution within the academic period before the closing date.
