Western College (Westcol) is one of the 50 public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges operating under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in South Africa. It functions in line with the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Act, which governs all public TVET institutions in the country. Being a public institution, Westcol is officially listed in the CET Act and therefore does not require a registration number, as this requirement only applies to private Further Education and Training (FET) colleges.
Located in the West Rand region of Gauteng, Westcol TVET College has five well-established campuses that offer a broad selection of academic and vocational programs. These programs are designed to provide students with the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to succeed in the modern workforce. Through a balance of theory and hands-on training, Westcol prepares students for both employment and entrepreneurial ventures.

Western TVET College Online Application Process for 2026
The following steps should be followed:
- Please Note: All first-time applicants MUST complete the PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT in full. This is NOT a pass-or-fail test.
- Complete the APPLICATION SCORING POINTS (APS) SYSTEM
- You will then be directed to the APPLICATION PORTAL.
- Any false information provided may lead to your application being disqualified.
- Please keep your login and password details safe, as you will need them to track your application status on the portal.
No walk-in applications are available!
- Submit documentation – you will receive notifications via email/SMS about your progress.
- Please read the minimum requirements before you apply.
- Westcol reserves the right to discontinue a programme based on insufficient student numbers or to move it to another campus.
- You need an active email account, as we will be communicating with you through email.
- You must continuously check your email to ensure that you do not miss any communication.
- All documents to be submitted should be original certified copies, and the certification should not be older than 6 months.
