Eskom Bursaries For Tvet Colleges: Eskom is a public utility company in South Africa that is currently one of the leading electricity providers. Founded as Electricity Supply Commission (ESCOM) in 1923 as per the Electricity Act, it is generating almost 95% of South Africa’s electricity.
Eskom’s aim through their Eskom University Bursary programmes is to empower communities, improve lifestyles and raise up a competent workforce by broadening the national skills pool.
Eskom hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2026/2027 Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to engineering.
This is to encourage more students to take up the engineering streams and realise their full potential. Types of Eskom Bursaries Offered 2026
these are the bsaries available at Eskom Tvet Colleges
1. Full Eskom Bursaries
Offered mainly based on business needs of the business, given to the following individuals:
- Academic deserving students
- South African citizen
- After completion of studies, to work-back obligation equal to contract duration
2. Scholarship
Offered exclusively to Eskom employees children/dependence based on the following:
- Academic deserving students
- Years of service by employee (minimum of 5years in service)

- Boiler Makers
- Control & Instrumentation
- Electricians
- Fitters & Turners
- Mechanical
- Millwrights
- Welders
- Plumbers
- Bricklayers
- Carpenters
- Power Plant Operators

The Eskom Bursaries 2026-2027 is currently open, and the last date to apply for it is December 2025
Eskom Bursary Requirements and eligibility 2026
be in a category or have the following to apply,
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have a National Senior Certificate or the equivalent
- Written proof of acceptance by the higher education institution
- Must be studying full-time at an accredited South Africa institution
- Applications must be willing to undergo an interview and/or a medical examination or health declaration.
Applicants must have the following minimum academic results before applying:
- Applicants intending to study at University: minimum HG (C) or “5” symbol in English, Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Applicants intending to study at Technikons/ University of Technology: minimum HG (D)/ SG (C) or “4” symbol in English, Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Applicants intending to study at Further Education and Training (FET): minimum HG (E)/ SG (D) or “3” symbol in English, Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Applicants currently studying at a higher education institution must have passed all registered subjects for the current year of study.
