Does Northlink College Offer Electrical Engineering? The QCTO occupational qualification serves as the curriculum for the new apprentices’ program being implemented by the Center of Specialization initiative, including the Electrical course. At the conclusion of the program, all apprentices will pass a trade test. They are all registered for the new QCTO curriculum.

Throughout the three-year program, apprentices in this qualification will be exposed to theory, practice, and workplace exposure through the QCTO curriculum’s Knowledge Modules, Practical Modules, and Workplace Modules. The Qualification is implemented using a dual system approach, therefore during the learning process, apprentices must alternate between going to college and working. Northlink College Electrical Engineering Requirements 2026

According to QCTO, the following qualifications must be met for the Electrical qualification: N4 electrical engineering part-time
NQF Level 1 with Math and Science, or Grade 9 with completed FLC, or Grade 12 with Math and Science

Output

Tradespeople who have passed a trade test or have a red seal after three years.

The applicant will succeed on the new trade test, which involves both a conceptual evaluation and a practical final test.

Northlink College Electrical Engineering Duration 2026

Program length varies per industry, however, the majority of them follow the same general guidelines:

  • Final Year The apprentices will spend 80% workplace and 20 % at College
  • All candidates in this program will be assisted by the college to be placed by an employer before they can start with the apprenticeship program.
  • First-year apprentices will spend 50% workplace and 50% on College.
  • The second-year apprentice will spend 70% workplace and 30 % at college
