The cost of an NCV course can differ quite a bit depending on a few key factors. These include the college you choose, the specific programme or field of study (such as Engineering, Hospitality, or Information Technology), and whether the institution is public or private. Generally, public TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) colleges in South Africa provide NCV courses at a lower fee than private institutions. On average, fees at public colleges may range from around R2,000 to R20,000 per year, depending on the programme. Private colleges, on the other hand, can charge significantly more.
It is also important to consider additional costs such as textbooks, registration fees, equipment, and transport. Some colleges may include these in their course fees, while others may require students to pay for them separately. NSFAS Eligibility Criteria

- Sassa grant beneficiaries also qualify for funding.
- Those with a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per year.
- Persons with disabilities: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per year.

How To Apply For NSFAS Funding
- Visit the NSFAS website: https://www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on “MyNSFAS” at the top of the page to create an account
- Complete the online application with the required information
- Upload supporting documents, including a Copy of a green barcoded ID, the back and front of a smart ID, a copy of a birth certificate, or a copy of a temporary ID, A salary slip, or a pension slip.
- Submit your application along with supportive documents.
