Buffalo City TVET College was established in 2002 through the merging of four key colleges in the Greater East London area: East London College and its St Mark’s Campus, King Street Campus, and John Knox Bokwe Careers College in Mdantsane. Shortly after the merger, the Border Technical College locations were closed, and its engineering and business studies programs were combined into the East London Campus. Meanwhile, John Knox Bokwe Campus continued to offer Report 191 programs in business and engineering. This strategic consolidation helped shape Buffalo City TVET College into a strong institution focused on vocational education and training.
