Is iQ College registered?

When considering any educational institution, one of the most important questions to ask is whether the college is officially registered and recognized by the relevant authorities. IQ College, like many private institutions, often comes under scrutiny as prospective students and parents seek assurance about the credibility of their chosen place of study. The registration status of a college is not just a formality; it determines whether the qualifications it provides are valid and whether students can use their credentials for further education or employment.

IQ College presents itself as a provider of quality education in various fields, often attracting students with the promise of flexible learning options and industry-relevant courses. However, before enrolling, it is essential to verify whether the college is registered with the appropriate national education department or accreditation bodies. In South Africa, for instance, this would include being registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and possibly the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA), depending on the courses offered.

Being registered ensures that the college adheres to national education standards, follows proper curriculum guidelines, and operates transparently. Unregistered institutions may provide programs that are not officially recognized, leaving students with certificates or diplomas that hold little to no value in the job market or academic world.

According to the National Qualifications Framework Act No. 67 of 2008, SAQA is a statutory body. All qualifications offered by providers, both public and private, are recorded on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by SAQA. All of IQ Academy’s credentials have been submitted to SAQA for inclusion in the NQF.

On the SAQA website, located at www.saqa.org.za, you may see a list of the certifications that IQ Academy offers. Additionally, each qualification they offer has an SAQA ID stated on their website.

  • Council on Higher Education

All of the programs that higher education institutions offer are quality assured by the CHE, an independent statutory agency.

Before iQ Academy makes a program available, it submits it to the CHE for accreditation to ensure that it satisfies the minimum requirements established by the CHE’s Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). All of the credentials offered by iQ Academy are accredited.
