King Hintsa Tvet College Online Application Requirements

1. NATIONAL CERTIFICATE (VOCATIONAL) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 – Grade 9 or Level 1
  • Level 3 – Level 2 qualification
  • Level 4 – Level 3 qualification

2. REPORT 191 ENGINEERING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • An appropriate National Certificate N3 Engineering Studies; or
  • A Senior Certificate, with at least three instructional offerings that apply to the instructional offerings chosen by the candidate for the program; or
  • An equivalent qualification
  • Proceed to the next level only when the previous level has been completed, i.e., N4 for N5, etc.

To qualify for a National Diploma, students need to obtain and complete 18 months of relevant practical experience.

3. REPORT191 BUSINESS ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • NSC / N3 / Grade 12 or NCV L4 for N4
  • N4 for N5
  • N5 for N6 An appropriate National Certificate N3 Engineering Studies; or

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR REPORT 191 ENGINEERING N4 – N6

  • A student who has passed Grade 12 technical, N3, or NQF Level 4 vocational will be admitted to N4
  • Any student with Grade 12 who has obtained 40% in Mathematics and Physical Science will be admitted to N4 for Civil Engineering
  • For Electrical Engineering N4, a student must have passed grade 12 with 45% or more in Mathematics and Physical Science.

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

  • Students who do not meet the minimum criteria for admission as outlined above may be directed to Pre-Vocational Learning
    Program (PLP) serves as a bridging course prior to enrolment in any qualification.
  • Students who are not admitted because of space will be referred to other Colleges.

How To Apply for the King Hintsa Online Application

Step 1.

  • Identify the course you wish to study, and career counseling is available.
  • Fill in the application form, which is available on all our campuses and the Admin Center. It can also be downloaded here, and on request, it can be posted or emailed to you.

Step 2.

  • Pay a non-refundable application fee; therefore, ensure that you meet the minimum requirements before applying. Payment details are on the application form.

Step 3.

  • Submit the form to the campus you wish to study at, together with your certified ID copy, latest school results, ID copy of parent/guardian, and proof of payment.

Step 4.

  • Foreign candidates have the responsibility of evaluating their qualifications with SAQA before applying.
  • No foreign students will be accepted if this is not done.

Step 5.

  • Once your application has been submitted, the college will inform you if you have been admitted, and you will be required to write a placement test. Thereafter, you are expected to attend classes.
