TVET Colleges Online Application Zimbabwe 2026

In recent years, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in Zimbabwe have become an increasingly popular choice for students seeking practical and industry-focused education. With the growing demand for skilled workers across various sectors, TVET institutions provide a vital pathway for young people to gain hands-on experience and relevant qualifications that align with the needs of the job market. To make access to these programs more convenient and inclusive, many TVET colleges in Zimbabwe have embraced digital transformation by introducing online application systems.

The online application process provides a more efficient and user-oriented way for prospective students to apply from anywhere in the country, especially in remote or underserved areas where physical access to campuses may be limited. By eliminating the need for lengthy queues and paperwork, the digital system streamlines the entire admissions process, making it faster and more transparent. Applicants can now browse available programs, check entry requirements, upload necessary documents, and track their application status with just a few clicks.

This move towards online applications also reflects broader national efforts to modernize the education sector and promote digital literacy. While some challenges remain, such as limited internet access in rural areas and a lack of digital skills among certain populations, the shift marks an important step toward a more accessible and future-ready TVET system.

Qualifications and Qualifications Frameworks

National Qualifications Framework (NQF):

As a member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Zimbabwe is committed to harmonising and standardising its TVET system with that of other Member States. Zimbabwe is therefore expected to formulate a qualification framework as a way of facilitating standardisation and transferability of qualifications.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education (MHTE) developed the Zimbabwe Examinations and Qualifications Framework (ZIMEQF), which is currently still in its draft form (2010). The coordination and planning remain decentralised with the Higher Education and Examination Council (HEXCO) in charge of Polytechnics, Industrial Training Centres, Youth Training Centres, some secondary schools, and private colleges.

The Apprenticeship Authority (AA) is responsible for the certification of skilled workers, and the Nurses Council oversees the certification of nurses under the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare. A number of other Ministries ensure certification in their specific fields.

TVET College in Zimbabwe offers five qualification levels:

•  Pre-Vocational Certificate (PVC);
•  National Foundation Certificate (NFC);
•  National Certificate (NC);
•  National Diploma (ND); and
•  Higher National Diploma (HND)

Documents needed to apply to TVET Colleges in Zimbabwe

Step 1: What you need to complete your application.

1. A valid email address

To create an applicant account, you need to have:

This email address will be used as a LoginID when accessing the applicant portal, and all communications regarding your application, once submitted, will be sent to the same email address. If you currently do not have a valid email address, create one by selecting any one from the few email service providers listed below.

2. Scanned Copies of your documents

To have a smooth sailing application, you should have the following documents scanned and preferably saved in PDF format.

• Proof of Identification: You need to have a scanned copy of either your National ID, Driver’s Licence, or Passport
• Academic Certificates: You also have to scan your O’Level, A’level certificate or equivalent, English Competency Certificate (if any), University Transcript, etc
• Proof of Payment: If you have already paid your application fee offline, thus at the bank or at any of the Africa University Campuses, scan the proof of payment and also save it preferably in PDF format.
