What is NCV?

• A vocationally orientated programme
• Allows learners to progress from General Education & Training (Grade 9) to further learning along a vocational path
• Involves an outcomes-based approach to education and is NQF-aligned
• A unit standard-based programme including in-service/on-the-job simulated practical training, together with a theoretical component
• Equips learners with knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in vocations required to be successful in the working world
• One-year programmes, available at three levels:
