It will improve relationships between employer and employees and organisation and client (community) and attract and retain quality employees.
The learner obtaining this qualification will enhance service delivery to internal and external clients which will enhance satisfaction and trust. Qualifying learners will be able to conduct limited policing operations, apply resource management at the lower management level and apply interpersonal skills in a law enforcement environment while balancing the constitutional and legal rights of individuals with the competence to legally infringe those rights in the service of maintaining a safe and secure society.

Policing Qualification Duration 2026
The National Certificate in policing is a full-year programme at each of the NQF levels of study.
A student is issued with a certificate on the successful completion of each level of study, that is, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4.
Policing Minimum Entry Requirements During Application Process 2026

- For entry to the National Certificate Safety in Society at NQF Level 2 you are required to:
- A year-end school report for grades 9, 10, 11 or 12, or
- An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
- An approved bridging programme design for the specific purpose to access NQF Level 2, or
- A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2, and be
- Minimum age of 17 years (maximum 215 years)
