A NATED N4 National Certificate is another name for an N4 Qualification. The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) created this qualification to provide students with both theoretical and practical education. The DHET created this to prepare more students for jobs after noticing a gap in young unemployment in South Africa.

A National Certificate post-matriculation program is the Electrical Engineering N4-N6 curriculum. Students who earn the National Certificate N4 can then pursue the National Certificates N5 and N6, followed by 18 months of work experience in an appropriate setting, to earn the National N Diploma: Electrical Engineering. N4 Electrical Engineering Career Opportunities

In order to be eligible for the National N Diploma, it is advised that students who sign up for the National Certificate program finish the N5 and N6 as well as the 18-month workplace experiential training.
Students can then enroll in a technical university to earn a higher degree or pursue a job that requires a degree.

What to Study After N4?

The NATED N5 National Certificate can be studied after earning the NATED N4 National Certificate.
The following national qualifications are available at Matric College:

• NATED N4 National Certificate
• NATED N5 National Certificate
• NATED N6 National Certificate
• NATED N6 National Diploma

These requirements build upon one another.
The NATED N4 National Certificate must be studied first, and the NATED N5 National Certificate may be studied afterward.
The NATED N6 National Certificate can be studied after earning the NATED N5 National Certificate.
The last certification, the NATED N6 National Diploma, can be completed after earning the NATED N6 National Certificate.

• Grade 12 (Pure Mathematics/Mathematics Literacy and Physical Science); National Senior Certificate (NSC);
