Who Is Eligible To Enroll In A TVET College?
Attending a TVET college has several benefits, including a strong focus on student employability, with part of the curriculum requiring students to complete experiential training (internships and apprenticeships), which can help you build experience for your CV.
Students who have completed Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 in high school are admitted to TVET Colleges, which are part of the Higher Education system. Post-graduates from universities can also enroll in TVET College courses to obtain further practical experience.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges Online Application for 2026 opens on 1 September and closes on 30 November. Therefore, all those who want to apply for TVET College Online should do so before the application deadline.
Eligibility Requirements For Public TVET Colleges
You must submit the following documents to apply for a TVET college in South Africa.
South African Students
- A certified copy of the latest school results
- A certified copy of the Identity Document
- Necessary registration fee
- Proof of residence
Foreign Students
- A certified copy of the latest school qualification
- A valid study permit until the end of the relevant study period

How to Apply to TVET College
- All new applicants must complete the Placement Screening Test before applying. We will not process applications without doing a placement screening test first.
- You can apply online by visiting the College Online Application portal
- Applicants can also visit the school to book an online application session.
- Applicants can apply for NSFAS Funding or search for other available bursaries.
- You can use either your smartphone, tablet, or computer to apply online via the student i-Enabler, using your PIN and student number to log on
- Applicants should apply for admission to the current level and the next level of their application
- Make sure you upload all the required documents and pay the necessary fees.
