Becoming a police officer in South Africa does not necessarily require a matric certificate. Applicants who hold a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an NQF Level 4 qualification accredited by SAQA may qualify, provided they meet other requirements such as documentation verification and the ability to communicate in at least two official languages, including English.
