Date of Online Application
The Tvet Colleges have different enrollment dates based on the school you apply to, the subject you select, and the semester you enroll in. For further information, go to the college’s official website that you want to attend. The application period for each academic year is open from September 1 through November 30.
Do I qualify to study at a TVET college?
In order to apply to study at a TVET college, you will have to have completed grade 9 and be at least 16 years old. (Some of the qualifications have more subject-specific requirements than those offered at a grade 9 level.) This means that you are able to study at a TVET college without a conventional matric, so that you can start working towards a specific career from the age of 16 and enter the workforce at a younger age.
Exactly what types of qualifications are required for TVET College?
TVET colleges accept students who have passed Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12, whereas universities demand a bachelor’s pass at the matric level. Up to 300 distinct courses are offered by some colleges. These include learnerships, the National Certificate (Vocational), NATED/Report 191, and the NQF Full Time.
What do I need to apply for TVET?
All applicants starting a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:
- Certificates/Qualifications.
- Recent Academic results.
- Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
- A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
How many points is TVET College?
The pass symbol, as determined by the Department of Higher Education and Training, is currently 40% for all subjects in Report 191 programmes. A student can only enrol for subjects on two consecutive levels. A student must obtain at least 30% to qualify for a supplementary examination in the Report 191 programmes.
