Which TVETs Are Still Open for 2026?
As the calendar turns and the 2026 academic year draws closer, many aspiring students are asking: Which Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges are still open for applications? The good news is that a substantial number of TVET institutions, especially in South Africa, are currently accepting applications for 2026. Across provinces such as the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo, KwaZulu‑Natal, and the Free State, several prominent colleges have their portals open now, offering NC(V) and NATED programs in fields like engineering, business studies, hospitality, agriculture, information technology, and more.
Some specific institutions with open applications include Eastcape Midlands TVET College, Capricorn TVET College, SWG TVET College, Central Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni East and West, Sedibeng, Tshwane North and South, among others. Many of these colleges opened their application windows in August‑September 2025, with closing dates expected around 30 September or stretching into October‑November for some programs.
If you are considering applying, it is important to act quickly: verify with the official college websites which programs are still open (some are more competitive than others), ensure you meet admission requirements (grade levels, subject prerequisites, certified documents), and submit your application well ahead of the closing date. For those outside South Africa or in other regions like Ghana or Uganda, specific institutions may have different timelines, always check their local admission calendars.
Late applications for 2026
Everyone is making plans for where and what to study at this time of year, and many educational institutions have started accepting applications for the coming 2026 academic year. TVET institutions are dedicated to providing students with a top-notch education and training so they may enter the workforce equipped with the necessary skills and abilities.
The institution you apply to, the subject you select, and the semester you enroll in all affect when you can enroll at TVET Colleges.
